  • Applicants must be 18 or older. Starting pay is $14.00/ hour with lots of hours available. There is a potential bonus at the end of the summer. Typical summer employee’s earn $8,000-$12,000 per summer.
  • The work season is approximately Memorial Day to Labor Day. We can usually work around school at the end of August, but we ask all the employees to come back to work the Labor Day weekend. Our peak busy time is July and August.
  • The job description includes renting new and exciting motorized and non-motorized watercraft equipment (Boats, Sea-Doo’s, Stand-Up Paddleboards, etc.) to customers at Bear Lake at one of our five locations around the lake. This involves taking reservations, running the till, issuing life jackets, checking the equipment in and out, telling customers the rules, showing customers how to operate the equipment, launching boats with tractors, fueling machines, putting equipment away, etc. A couple of our locations also include the preparation of fast-food on the side. All employees share in all the duties of the job and rotate around. We have on the job training at the beginning of the season. You’ll be learning valuable business skills, life skills, interpersonal skills, responsibility, and problem solving. You’ll learn the in’s and out’s of business, and will be part of a very important team that is fully responsible for operating every aspect of the business.
  • It’s required that you live at Bear Lake during the summer to be considered for employment. Some employees have a friend or family that have lodging at Bear Lake they’re able to make arrangements with to stay in. We have some employee housing available with our company if you do not have another place to stay. We have both male and female separate employee housing. The cost is $500 for the entire summer and includes all utilities, Wi-Fi internet, and bathroom and kitchen supplies. The employee housing comes fully furnished with kitchen, dishes, fridge, microwave, washer & dryer, furniture, bunk beds with mattresses, etc. You only need to bring your bedding and personal items.
  • You would be expected to work all Saturdays and holidays, especially during the peak busy season in July and August. Employees usually work 5 days a week, and the days off are usually on weekdays. We’re normally open on the weekdays from 9:00 am to about 6:00 pm. On Saturday’s we are generally at work from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. On Sunday’s we open at 11:00 am instead of the normal 9am. By working 5 days a week, you ‘ll usually work more than 40 hours a week during the busy part of the season. There’s also the option working 6 days a week during July and August if you feel up to it. We require our employees to be working only for our company full-time during the summer, and no other job. All hours worked are paid at the normal pay rate and not overtime due to us being a seasonal business.
  • There are opportunities for you to take the watercraft equipment out and ride during your days off, or after work Monday-Thursday. You just need to get permission from Brian and pay for the gas you use.
  • We are the largest company at Bear Lake providing recreation with 5 rental shop locations. We hire a group of 40-45 wonderful employees each summer to staff the 5 locations. We have a lot of employees return each year and many that end up forming lasting friendships. You’re welcome to hang out with the other employees after work, or on your days off. From time to time we sponsor employee parties where we pay for the food.
  • We look for motivated individuals who are committed to work the whole summer and are hard-working, honest, responsible, dependable, friendly, good with people, and can learn quickly on the job the necessary skills through the training we provide.
  • The job can be considered a fun job, but there’s a lot of work and responsibility that goes along with it. Our philosophy is “work hard, play hard”. If you’re looking for a job where you can do the minimal amount of work with little responsibility, then this is not the job for you. If you’re looking for a job that’s satisfying, adventurous, challenging, fun, and located in one of the most beautiful outdoor settings anywhere in the world, then this is the job for you.
